Laser Hair Reduction in Knoxville & Johnson City
Our pain-free laser hair reduction technology delivers fast, more efficient energy to destroy the hair in a way that is painless and free from side-effects. Laser hair removal is one of the most common cosmetic laser procedures. In general, devices for hair removal beam highly concentrated light into hair follicles. Pigment in the follicles absorb the light which then destroys the hair. We use the most comfortable treatment options and technologies that minimize recovery time and reduce the number of treatments needed to achieve your ultimate results.
At Total Hair and Body Medical, we offer laser hair reduction in Knoxville and Johnson City, TN. Contact us for more information or to schedule a consultation!
What Makes Our System Different From Traditional Laser Hair Reduction?
The three main differences between our system and other technologies for laser hair removal are:
- Total comfort
- Speed and effectiveness of the treatment
- Use across skin-types.
Does it Hurt?
One of the major benefits of the laser hair removal system is that the technology eliminates the discomfort of typical laser hair removal. Most people only feel a warming sensation making the experience a highly comfortable one.
How Long Does it Take?
Treatment length will vary depending on the area being treated. Our system is relatively fast and we are typically able to complete a small area in 5 minutes and up to 1 hour for a large area.
Is it Safe?
Our laser removal system is safe and effective for light to dark skin types.
Is Laser Hair Removal Permanent?
The hair we remove is permanent. However, over time you may grow new hair, due to fluctuating hormones. You can expect a great result with 90% or greater reduction. Depending on your hair growth and each individual clients’ case, at the end of the treatments we may recommend some touch up treatments which could take place with larger periods in between quarterly, or twice a year.
Is There a Difference Between Laser Hair Removal & Laser Hair Reduction?
Laser hair removal and laser hair reduction are terms often used interchangeably, but they have distinct goals. Laser hair removal aims to permanently eliminate hair from the treated area by targeting and damaging hair follicles, though complete removal isn’t always guaranteed and multiple sessions are typically needed. On the other hand, laser hair reduction focuses on significantly decreasing hair density and thickness, resulting in finer and lighter hair. Both procedures use similar laser technology and require multiple sessions for optimal results. If you have questions about our service, please contact us and we’ll be happy to talk through our options!
Patience Pays Off
It takes two or three weeks after your first treatment to see a difference, and 8 -12 treatments to get the full result. You also have to be really regular with your appointments because your hair follicles are all at different stages of their growth, so you want to make sure each one has a chance to get zapped. The body goes through three different growth phases: Anagen, Catagen, and Telogen. Laser hair removal works by targeting the hair in the Anagen phase. The Anagen phase is when the hair is growing and has the most blood supply; this is the only time laser hair removal works.
